Products
As a responsible dealer we ensure that all our manufacturers have taken important steps towards aiding the conservation of our environment. These have been achieved through:
- Careful disposal of waste materials
- Reducing the energy consumption of the manufacturing unit
- Using components that can be reclaimed, or disposed of carefully
- Finding environmentally safe products where possible
Chlorofurocarbons (CFCs)
All our finished moulded foams and plastic components are 100% CFC free. The blowing agents that are used in the manufacturing process are also being totally CFC free.
Disposal of Waste Materials
Paint Processes
All effluents are neutralised, tested and disposed of through the local drainage system.
Other Process
Sub-contract specialists reclaim component scrap:
- Foam by the original chemical suppliers
- Cardboard and paper products by B.I.F.F.A.
- Scrap metal dealers collect Steel
- Aluminium is sold back to the original supplier
Non-Reclaimable Product Waste
A special incinerator, the process of which is controlled by “Environmental Protection” legislation, disposes of all waste that is not reclaimable as above.
- A reputable waste company disposes of residue from the polishing process. Certification is available upon request.
- Waste wood off-cuts are fed into an incinerator to supply heat.
- Out of Date polishes and stains are disposed of in special containers supplied by reputable waste company.
Section 17 - 14 days notice given to County Council prior to movement and also to the receiving of the above chemicals. Council advised of the receipt and consequential disposal.
- A scrap dealer for further reclamation collects steel and other metals.
Solid Woods
Due to the environmental issues concerning the use of hardwoods, all of our manufactures have deliberately changed to materials that come renewable and managed resource. Main supplier is Friends of the Earth approved.
Boards
Man made boards, i.e. Chipboard, MDF is manufactured using softwood timbers. EI quality is the standard by which purchasers are made due to the lowest possible formaldehyde emissions.
