As teams from multiple organisations come together to collaborate, it is essential that each organisation’s needs are considered in order to create an ergonomically pleasing environment. So, when COI was approached to work with the authorities team and project managers to create an effective shared workspace for Central Bedfordshire’s team and NHS users to collaborate together at Grove View Hub, we focussed on comfort and cost-effectiveness, along with modern designs with creative ergonomic features, enabling workers to stay productive whilst having all the necessary tools at their fingertips.
The new building has been purpose-built by Central Bedfordshire Council as a community hub. Users of the spaces as well as the council included NHS teams including dentistry, GP service, East London Foundation Trust (ELFT) and shared user spaces such as meeting rooms and breakout space.
Framework:
As awarded suppliers on the ESPO 282 Office Furniture framework and with an ongoing supply relationship with Central Bedfordshire Council, our project team at Combined Office Interiors utilised the framework to offer our clients a competitive route to purchase an extensive range of office furniture with exceptional service benefits.
Our project management services not only included design plans that focused on the key requirements for the shared hub, but also provided an elegant interior design to make the space more enjoyable for its users. We took care of the delivery and installation of the office furniture in phases and made sure that these procedures were completed safely with full risk and method statements issued to those involved.
The new shared hub space provides an ideal foundation to promote teamwork. It features a wide range of flexible workspaces with furniture designed to facilitate collaboration including hot desking, reception spaces, meeting rooms, examination rooms, storerooms and flexible communal breakout spaces.
Areas of refurbishment included:
- Hot desking office spaces
- Admin offices
- Reception and waiting areas
- Interview rooms
- Meeting rooms
- Store Room
- Consulting / examination room
- Counselling rooms
- Medical rooms
- Treatment rooms
- Cloakrooms
- Kitchen & breakout spaces
- Exhibition space
Innovative office furniture, Summary:
The innovative design of the furniture in this shared hub will no doubt be instrumental in improving creativity and collaboration.
