Buckinghamshire Council and the libraries project team, opened their doors to visitors at Chilterns Lifestyle Centre in December 2021. This new hub is home to a community centre, leisure centre, library, nursery, and outdoor play facilities.
As long-standing suppliers to Buckinghamshire Council and the library services, Combined Office Interiors were delighted to be involved in the complete installation of fixed and loose library furniture and shelving into the new flagship building.
The exciting new library space has been cleverly designed by our library team of experts to incorporate features that will help people who are living with dementia, including a calming colour scheme, comfortable soft furnishings, and clear signage using symbols and words.
Further areas of the refurbishment include Latitude library shelving, reception and staff stations, administration office, ICT suite, meeting spaces, and a designated children’s area.
The community has embraced the new facilities and we have received great comments and feedback from the library team who stated that in their first official week of opening, the library gave out over two thousand books, which was more than the whole of November in their former premises.
