St Mary’s School is a one form entry school for children aged 4 to 11 years. Their aim is to provide a captivating learning environment that enriches the children that attend, making a positive difference in the communities in which they live.
Working with a national procurement company, COI was invited to provide a supply and install solution, that included a full logistical delivery schedule and an experienced fit-out team to fulfil the needs of the project.
We were able to provide a one-source procurement approach that involved market-leading brands including KI Educational Furniture, Willowbrook Classroom Storage, and Imperial Office Furniture, with our team of specialists providing impartial advice and support every step of the way.
The educational furniture selected was all ergonomic-orientated and designed to be colourful and flexible to create an engaging and practical teaching and learning space. Chosen for good posture, comfort, and excellent value for money, we provided a range of Postura + one-piece chairs. Made from high impact polypropylene, these chairs are strong, lightweight, stain-resistant and easy to clean. We also provided classroom tables that were durable and easy to rearrange, flexible storage tray units, teacher desks with associated storage and seating, and pigeonhole storage.
To ensure all goods arrived in Jersey in immaculate condition, we added extra protection to the procured furniture and arranged for it all to be transported on an HGV vehicle from our Cambridgeshire warehouse to Portsmouth ready for an overnight freight boat. Following the 10-hour crossing and arrival in Jersey, the goods were transhipped onto a hired van due to challenging local road width restrictions and delivered directly to the school ready for full installation by our team. We worked effectively and efficiently to complete all 6 classroom refurbishments within the tight timeframe provided by the school, finishing some 3 hours earlier than scheduled.
Despite tough Covid conditions, we adhered to all guidelines, and successfully helped create an amazing learning space the school can be proud of.
