We originally had the pleasure of designing and refurbishing the school’s staffroom in 2017 with new kitchen units, flooring, and decoration, but following extensive water and steam damage from a burst pipe over a term shutdown, the team at COI were invited back to complete the repairs and give a fresh new look to the facilities at Highworth Combined School.
Following a Covid-safe site visit, we provided detailed quotes along with a project-managed plan of works which would see the re-fit works start on the 7th of June and completed by the 21st of the same month. From the offset the vision was clear, to create a warm atmosphere for the school’s team ensuring it was a calming space to recharge, plan and prepare lessons, and where informal meetings can be held.
Our priority was to make the practical elements safe. Our skilled electricians installed new sockets and appliances, whist our fit-out team fitted new kitchen units and worktops. Safety flooring was laid in the designated kitchen area alongside carpeting to provide warmth and comfort.
New furniture was also procured to replace items that were damaged beyond repair ensuring the area was a positive space once again. The refreshed design included flexible and functional furniture solutions and comfortable soft seating that has created a multi-purpose and flexible space to socialise and collaborate.
The updated space has received the thumbs up from staff at Highworth who are thrilled with the refreshed and stylish end results, which were successfully completed on time, and to budget.
